Kyle Shaw

Mr. Shaw founded Shaw Kwei & Partners in 1999, and has been active in Asian private equity for over 20 years. During his investment career, Mr. Shaw has served as a director of several companies such as; Flextronics International Ltd. of Singapore, China Fangda Group Co. Ltd. of China, SNP Leefung Holdings Ltd. of Hong Kong, Suga International Holdings Ltd. of Hong Kong, and B&B Natural Foods of Hong Kong. Mr. Shaw began his financial career with Security Pacific National Bank's merchant bank in New York, and then transferred to Hong Kong in 1989 where he founded Security Pacific National Bank's Asian private equity business. Mr. Shaw joined the Tudor Investment Group to open a Shanghai office managing this hedge fund’s proprietary investments in China after the merger of Security Pacific National Bank with the Bank of America in 1993. Mr.Shaw received an M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia in 1983. He was president of the Wharton Club of Hong Kong for 3 years, and is currently a director of the Wharton Club of Hong Kong and the University of Virginia Alumni Club in Hong Kong. He studied Mandarin Chinese at Taiwan’s National Normal University Language Institute in 1985, and has lived over 25 years in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and Taiwan.


Christoph Mueller

Mr. Mueller joined Shaw Kwei & Partners in 2004. He is currently a director of Zhenzhong Auto Components Ltd, a portfolio investment of Shaw Kwei & Partners. Prior to joining Shaw Kwei & Partners, Mr. Mueller focused on derivative securities trading and risk management in Hong Kong, London, and New York. Mr. Mueller began his derivative trading career with Security Pacific National Bank in New York and London from 1987 to 1991. He set up the trading operations and risk management of DKB Financial Products, the global derivatives subsidiary of Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, in New York and London from 1991 through 1993 acting as Head of European Trading, before he moved to Hong Kong as Senior Vice President and business head of the Asian fixed income and cross-currency OTC derivatives operation until 2000. Mr. Mueller was Senior Advisor to Reval, Inc., a New York based derivatives software company, from 2000 through 2003 and based in London. He received his MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1987 and his ‘Diplomkaufmann’ from University at Cologne, Germany in 1985. He was born and raised in Germany, and has lived over 12 years in Hong Kong.


Tsui Sung Lam (S.L)

Mr. Tsui was a Director of Flextronics International (listed on the NASDAQ in 1995) from 1991 to 2001. He was the principal manager in the management-led buyout of Flextronics International from its parent, Flextronics Inc. in June 1990, which was led by Kyle Shaw while with Security Pacific. After the buyout, Mr. Tsui became Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Flextronics International. Mr. Tsui served in various positions from 1982 to June 1990 for Flextronics Inc., the predecessor of Flextronics International, including Vice President of Asian operations. From 1973 to 1982, he held various positions at National Semiconductor (HK) Ltd., GTE Sylvania Far East Ltd. and NCR (Mfg.) Hong Kong Ltd. Mr. Tsui received Diplomas in Production Engineering and Management Studies from Hong Kong Polytechnic, and a certificate in Industrial Engineering from Hong Kong University. He was born and raised in Hong Kong and has worked across Greater China.


Allen Huie

Allen Huie joined SKP as a Senior Partner in 2009 after a 25 year career investing in China and in investment banking. Allen started his finance and investment banking career with Salomon Brothers Inc. in New York in 1985, and helped Salomon Brothers expand its business in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and China. From 1997–99, Allen was Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking for Salomon Brothers’ investment banking business throughout Asia. From 1992–96, Allen was the CEO of Vickers Ballas Hong Kong, now DBS Vickers, one of the largest regional securities firms in Asia. From 2000–06, Allen was Founder and President of Bizexpress International Ltd. (BIL), an online hotel booking and air ticketing firm. With offices and call centers in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, BIL covered 3,000 hotels and all major airlines in China. BIL was sold to a Beijing travel company in 2006. Since 2006 Allen has been involved in China’s clean energy industry. Allen is Chairman of China Renewable Energy Holdings, Inc., a US publicly traded company (OTC: CREO) that provides consulting services focused on the CDM market for carbon credits from renewable energy projects in China. Allen received both a BSE degree from the Wharton School and a BA in Economics from the School of Arts & Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania in 1980 (magna cum laude), and a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1983. Allen was also a Senior Fellow at UCLA’s School of Public Policy in 1999. Allen was Vice-President of the Wharton Club of Hong Kong. Allen is married with two children and resides in Hong Kong. Allen and Kyle have a 20 year relationship.
